Zee Dempster

Author, Storyteller, Educator

A lifelong New Yorker, Zee Dempster finds inspiration for her storytelling from a variety of sources. The knowledge she acquired from her BS in Computer Science and MA in Government and Politics at St. John’s University, provides the intellectual stimulus for her characters. Music and movies drive her creative engine. Listening to music led her to write song lyrics. Her love of science fiction movies inspired her preferred genre of writing, Speculative Fiction

She has attended the Gotham Writers Workshop in New York City. She also attended the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She participated in the Wild Seeds Writer’s Retreat online and The Writer’s Hotel online. There she received the 2020 Sara Patton Fiction Stipend.

Zee’s first novel titled “The Aurora Satellite,” is a speculative fiction story. It visits a post-apocalyptic earth in the not so distant future. She is now writing the sequel, exploring the richness of poetry and harvesting ideas for short stories.
